Let's get started!

First, a couple of common questions about our intake and counseling process.

How involved is the process to get started?

Step 1
No tedious, time-consuming paperwork needed. Take 2 minutes to fill out an intake form. This provides us with your basic contact information and a better understanding of your needs and goals.

Step 2
Once we receive your intake form, we do our best to respond within 24 hours. We will email you a link to a calendar so you can pick a day and time that works for you to have a free, 20-minute phone call with us. This call gives us both a chance to get to know each other.  It also provides us with more information about your goals so we can confirm that we can help in your area of need.

Step 3
At the end of the intake phone call, we will work with you to schedule your initial assessment and future sessions!

What couples-related issues can't you help with?

Whatever your relationship needs and challenges - we view them as an opportunity to help you build a stronger and more vibrant bond and relationship. However, we cannot help in all situations.

These are the situations in which we cannot help:

1. If there is active alcohol and/or drug addiction on the part of either or both partners, from either partner’s perspective and the partner/couple is not willing to seek treatment & have treatment be a part of couples counseling.

2. If there is  violence in the relationship, threats by one or both partners that violence might occur, or if there is fear of such violence from both or either partner.

3. If either partner currently has an untreated major mental illness (i.e. schizophrenia, recurrent psychotic depression, or bipolar/manic-depressive illness, ) Note: This does not include past, successfully treated psychotic episodes (e.g. post-partum depression with psychosis).

4. If there is an undisclosed, current affair that you are not willing to disclose (per research this predicts couples therapy failure).

5. If there is an ongoing affair and the partner having the affair is not willing to end it.

6. If either partner is experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or has a history of serious harm inflicted on him/herself or another person.
