Rates & Insurance
We are considered Out-of-Network Providers. We encourage all clients to check with their insurance provider before scheduling your first appointment to find out the details regarding your specific benefits for your plan.
WHAT ARE OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS?
It’s important to understand that in order to be eligible for reimbursement for counseling services through your insurance company, you will need to have a diagnosed mental health disorder. This applies to all therapy services. We can provide you with a monthly document called a Superbill, which you will submit for reimbursement. Note that a mental health diagnosis will be required whether we believe there to be one or not (see our About US page regarding are approach to therapy for more details).
If you want to simplify the process of being reimbursed, you may want to consider using the service ReImbursify.
WHAT’S A SUPERBILL?
Many health insurance companies include out of network benefits for members. This means you pay for your counseling services at the time of service and then submit a document called a Superbill (generated monthly) to your insurance company for reimbursement. A Superbill provides date of service, proof of payment, and required diagnostic and service codes.
EXAMPLE: Let’s say your insurance reimburses 80% for an out of network counseling session once the deductible is met. You would pay $120 at the time of service and your out of network benefit would reimburse $96, this would be paid directly to you by your insurance, leaving the actual cost to you at $24 per session.
WHAT IS PAYING OUT OF POCKET?
Choosing to pay out-of-pocket for your services provides us the freedom to explore your concerns without interference from an insurance company. It allows us to work together without the need for a mental health diagnosis and medical necessity. It also provides you with more control over the type of care you receive and more flexibility in the work we do together.
Another benefit of paying privately for your services is that you are empowered to choose the therapist that’s the right fit for you and your needs, not just a therapist that accepts your insurance. This is an important variable to consider when seeking support.
Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check, or credit card including HSA cards. You are responsible for full payment at the time of services regardless of out-of-network benefits.
INITIAL INTAKE INTERVIEW SESSION (60-90 MINUTES)
$140 (couples and Individual)
The interview session is a time to collect information and begin developing a treatment plan that will work for you and/or you and your partner. It can feel irrelevant in some ways and is not what a therapy session will feel like after this initial information gathering, but it is very important and gives both parties an opportunity to set realistic expectations and decide if we are a good therapeutic match.
Highly recommended is an additional Gottman Relationship assessment through the Gottman Institute. We use Gottman Method Couples therapy as our foundational approach to couples counseling and have found it to be integral and very helpful in working with couples. The additional cost is $39.00 and goes directly to the Gottman Institute. There is no additional cost for interpretation and explanation of the assessment.
Please allow up to 90 minutes and plan on you, your spouse/partner (if applicable), and your child (if applicable) being present. This is non-refundable, even if we decide we are not a good fit. In the case where we are not a good match, we will try to provide referrals to trusted providers who may be able to better meet your needs.
INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLES THERAPY SESSION (60 MINUTES)
We love working with clients who are ready to feel better! Sessions will be focused on what is most important in the present moment and identified treatment goals, while also engaging in a variety of counseling interventions including Gottman-based couples counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and logotherapy.
EXTENDED COUPLES SESSION (90 MINUTES)
The Gottman Method is best done in 90-minute sessions to allow for deeper, (often quicker) uninterrupted work. This will be discussed at intake and adjustments made once therapy begins if necessary (or preferred).
